We have since developed a longer-term relationship with them in order to maximise their success by developing an ongoing SEO strategy.

We were tasked with boosting organic rankings and visibility within the confectionery industry across the UK. We developed a content strategy and began to add in a number of value-added content pieces around relevant topics that were attracting a great deal of search volume. 

We could see that there was an opportunity to boost visibility across their expansive product ranges and provide more relevant, in-depth content.

We continue to expand upon and optimise the product categories, striving to boost website performance, as well as implement high-quality and relevant content that will be of great value to customers.

The Obstacles

Wholesale Sweets UK’s website wasn’t performing as well as it should have been because the page speed was significantly slow. Slow page speed can seriously hinder ranking opportunities as well as provide a poor user experience. We made sure to optimise the HTML code on all of the website’s pages to overcome the error and ensure the website was performing at optimal levels.

The website was also having indexing issues and so we had to reevaluate internal links to make sure that the site was easy to navigate for search engines and users alike.

We also noticed that there were a number of empty or missing meta description tags. We fixed this by adding unique meta descriptions for every indexable page to make the content more easily translatable and, as a result, more likely to rise up the rankings. 

The Results

After implementing product categories and content informed by extensive keyword research, we saw Wholesale Sweets UK reach the number one positions for the keywords  ‘wholesale sweets uk’ and ‘sweet suppliers manchester’. We also achieved a 195% increase in conversions and 16,141 new visitors to the site on a monthly basis. 

Keyword research and competitor analysis were two essential components of our strategy. We needed to understand their market position and discover long-tail keywords that could be effectively targeted against the competitors.

We have since taken the website’s health score up to 100%, having massively improved the core web vitals. 

We continue to review our ongoing strategy and conduct regular technical audits to make sure that the website is running smoothly and continues to generate results.
